Turn on your computer for a convenient time automatically

Go to your Computer Setup (press Del when your PC is loading). Go to “Power Management Setup” and enable “ PWron/Resume by alarm” and set date alarm and time alarm and then press F10 to save your change and turn off your pc. On specified date and time, your pc will turn on 

Sound card problems

Problem The newly installed sound card is not working. Remedy Check whether the on-board sound card is disabled or not. In the control panel, check the sound card properties. If the sound card shares any resources like the DMA controller with the network card, then there could be a resource conflict. Correct the resource conflict Click the Volume icon to check the volume level. Keep the volume at a reasonable level. Play some sound file from the sound applet in windows control panel. Now the sound card will work. Problem There is no output from one of the stereo speakers. Remedy Click and check the master volume in the Volume icon. If the balance is shifted to one side then there may not be sound from one of the speakers. Check for any loose connections on the speaker which does not give out sound.. VGA /AGP / PCI express cards

Problem Unable to display more than 16 colours. Remedy Check whether the card can support more than 16 colours. Check whether the driver for the display card is installed. Check in the display properties (of Windows), settings for the VGA card. Change the settings to display 16 bit colours or 32 bit colours if the card supports the feature. Now the VGA card can support more than 16 colours. Problem Unable to install an AGP card.   Remedy Check whether the motherboard has an AGP Slot. If there is an AGP slot, check on the motherboard if there is any indication that it is disabled. If the motherboard manufacturer allows the usage, enable the AGP slot. Find the appropriate AGP card. (1X /2X cards cannot be installed in a 4X/8X slot). Now the AGP card can be installed. Install the AGP card driver and configure the display settings. Problem The system is not maintaining the date and time Setting. Remedy The CMOS battery may be fully discharged. Switch of the system and remove the power cable. Check that the jumber meant for CMOS clearing is not set to reset the setting. If the problem presistes,open the system cabinet and replace the battery by a new battery(CMOS)3.3v. set the CMOS jumber in CMOS clearing. Fix the Cabinet.Connect the power and switch on the system.set all CMOS settings with date and time,save and exit setup Switch of the computer and switch on after 10 min to check the date and time whethe it's updated or not.
