Remedy

- Check whether the driver for the display card is installed.
- Check in the display properties (of Windows), settings for the VGA card.
- Change the settings to display 16 bit colours or 32 bit colours if the card supports the feature.
- Now the VGA card can support more than 16 colours.
Problem

Remedy
- Check whether the motherboard has an AGP Slot.
- If there is an AGP slot, check on the motherboard if there is any indication that it is disabled.
- If the motherboard manufacturer allows the usage, enable the AGP slot.
- Find the appropriate AGP card. (1X /2X cards cannot be installed in a 4X/8X slot).
- Now the AGP card can be installed.
- Install the AGP card driver and configure the display settings.
Problem
A new PCI express display card is installed in the PCI express VGA slot. There is no display. However, only one single beep indicates that the booting is fine.
Remedy
- Check whether the monitor is connected to the correct VGA port.
- Some motherboards may have built-in VGA/AGP/PCI VGA connectors.
- If the monitor is still connected to the old port, detach and connect the monitor cable to the newly installed PCI Express VGA port.
- Switch on the computer and check the display.
- Use the PCI express card driver CD, to install the display driver to achieve the best display performance
