Problem



            Monitor LED blinks and shows an orange light.    



Remedy



  1. Check whether the monitor is connected to the correct VGA port.


  2. Check whether the computer is on.


  3. This situation arises when the computer is not sending any data / signal.


  4. Connect the monitor cable to the correct VGA port and check.


  5. If the problem is not solved, then switch off and remove the monitor. Inspect the monitor cable for any physical damage.


  6. If the cable is damaged, replace the monitor cable.


  7. Connect power and connect the monitor to the correct VGA port.


  8. Switch on the computer to check if the display is okay.


  9. This problem may also arise due to a failed VGA card.


  10. If the problem is not due to cable, switch off the computer and check by using another working display card.


  11. If the problem is not solved then repeat instructions given in the motherboard troubleshooting.


Problem



The image on the screen is shaking and a little flicker is seen.

Remedy



  1. Check whether there are any speakers or UPS nearby.


  2. Remove any device that produces a strong magnetic field.


  3. Check the display adapter and monitor operating frequency, in the advanced display properties.


  4. Set the adapter refresh rate to the optimum frequency supported by the monitor.


  5. Restart the computer and check the display.


  6. Now the monitor will work normally and no flicker will be seen.




Problem



A single horizontal line is appearing on the monitor.



Remedy



  1. Check the video cable for any damage.


  2. Check any device nearby that may produce a strong magnetic field and remove it.


  3. If the problem is not solved, it may be due to an internal fault in the monitor.


  4. The vertical deflection circuit / IC / yoke may have gone wrong.


  5. The SMPS inside the monitor could have gone wrong.


  6. Similar problem can occur as a single horizontal line appearing on the screen.


  7. To verify check the monitor in another computer.


  8. Send the monitor for service, as these are not field serviceable faults.




Problem



There is some colour change on one side of the monitor screen.



Remedy



  1. Check for any damaged monitor cable.


  2. Check whether the monitor cable is extremely twisted.


  3. Do not move or rotate the monitor while it is switched on.


  4. Extreme rotating may cause the a twisted monitor cable and this will result in colour changes in the display.


  5. Switch off the computer and the monitor.


  6. Set all the cables connected to the computer neatly.


  7. Position the monitor correctly and then connect to the computer.


  8. Switch on the computer and check whether the problem is repeating.


  9. If the problem is not solved then use the following step.


  10. Use a de-gauzing coil to rectify this problem.






Problem



The monitor shows distorted images.



Remedy



  1. Check for any strong electromagnetic fields nearby.


  2. Remove such devices that produce an electromagnetic field.


  3. Check if the correct monitor driver is installed and the adapter frequency is set to optimum


  4. If the problem persists, then send the monitor for servicing.

Install .NET Framework 3.5 in Windows 10 without internet(offline)

By default  in Windows 10 .net framework 4.5 is pre installed. If we install .net framework 3.5 apps Windows 10 will prompt to install .net framework 3.5 from internet. It will take to long time. Here is another way to quick installation without internet connection. Insert Windows10 DVD or load your ISO image or Insert bootable flash disk. CTRL+E This PC -> Note the Drive letter of installation media  In my case it's D: Open Command Prompt as admin mode Type the following command                                                                                                   Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /All /Source:D:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess Replace D: with your drive letter (what you note down before 3rd point) Now installation will start.After completion of installation "The operation completed successfully"message will display.

General SMPS-Swith Mode Power Supply Problem and fix

Problem The computer boots normally, but behaves erratically after some time. Remedy The power supply may not be able to support the load inside the computer. The internal fan in the SMPS could have failed and excessive heat inside the SMPS might have caused the erratic output voltages. Check whether the SMPS fan is functioning. If the fan is okay, then switch off the power. Remove the power cable and open the cabinet.. Check the SMPS output voltages, after connecting the power cable and switching on the computer.
